Sophia Ayda Schultz

Writer, Editor, Communication & Coordination

"Sophia grew up in Germany as the child of an Iranian father and a German mother. As a teenager she moved to Potomac, Maryland with her family, where she graduated from the German School of Washington D.C. After internships at the Cultural Forum of the Austrian Embassy and the Goethe Institute in D.C., she spent two months in Guanajuato, Mexico, where she worked as a volunteer. From there she moved to Berlin, where she completed her Bachelor's Degree in Kulturwissenschaften.

She recently received her Master's Degree in Middle East Politics from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. Over the last few years she has worked in politics, with internships at the Iraqi Embassy in D.C., and the US Congress, as well as working in the field of contemporary art, writing texts for artist Shahram Entekhabi and writing academic essays on art-related topics, like the New Iranian Cinema.

Sophia is filled with curiosity and strives to learn about the world with an open mind. She is always busy doing something and is currently planning a new adventure."
